Weekly Shuttles to Yellowstone National Park
Karst Stage will start weekly Yellowstone National Park shuttles starting on June 11th and going throughout the summer. Scheduled shuttles will depart from Livingston at 6:30 a.m. and continue through Bozeman and Big Sky on the way to Old Faithful. After a two-hour layover at Old Faithful, the trip will continue with stops at the Lake Hotel, Canyon Village, Mammoth, Gardiner, and Emigrant. Passengers who are not getting off in the Park can expect to return to their origination in 12 hours.
Trips are designed for passengers who need shuttles to stay in Park properties, or others who want an informative day driving trip through the Park. Shuttle stops will allow passengers to take brief walks throughout the day.
The driver will:
•Have a commercial driver’s license and be experienced on Park roads.
•Be knowledgeable about Yellowstone and provide narrative.
•Concentrate on driving and allow the passengers to take in all that the World’s first National Park has to offer.
Trips will cost $85 per person, and do not include Yellowstone Park entrance fees. Individuals with Golden Passports or other Yellowstone National Park passes need to bring the pass on the shuttle, and will not have to pay a Park entrance fee. Wednesday will be the scheduled shuttle day, but other days may be available. Call (406) 556-3540 for further details.
Karst will also offer businesses freight delivery throughout the Park and surrounding cities at competitive rates. Call 406.556.3540 for more details.

Free Big Sky Shuttles!
Karst is happy to provide Moonlight Basin's press release below. While reading it, keep in mind that Karst Stage provides this service to the Big Sky Transportation District.
Moonlight Basin Announces Sponsorship of Skyline Bus Service Resulting in Free Public Transportation between Bozeman and Big Sky
Big Sky, Mont. (December 12, 2006) Moonlight Basin announces that it has committed to sponsor the new “Skyline-Link to the Peak” bus service between Bozeman and Big Sky. The Skyline service expands public transportation options available in the area.
The service debuted on December 1, 2006, and now provides year-round public transportation in Big Sky, with a new service between Bozeman and Big Sky added this winter. Moonlight Basin’s sponsorship of the transportation system guarantees the service between Bozeman and Big Sky will be free for all riders through June 30, 2007.
Lee Poole, managing partner of Moonlight Basin, said, “Moonlight Basin believes this new service will highlight the benefits of public transportation. While local residents and visitors now have expanded care-free transportation, this service also helps alleviate congestion on local roads and decrease emissions from automobiles,” said Poole. “We are pleased to be a partner in a program with so many positive impacts.”
The Bozeman to Big Sky route will make 6 trips daily during the winter, and 5 trips will return back to Bozeman daily. The 47-seat motorcoach (bus) departs from Montana State University to the Mountain Village Center and Moonlight Basin, making stops along the way at the Gallatin Valley Mall, Four Corners, and Gallatin Gateway. Skyline buses in Big Sky will offer bike or ski racks, depending upon the season. Karst Stage of Bozeman operates the buses on behalf of the Transportation District.
According to Lisa Knorr, Chair of the Gallatin County Big Sky Transportation District, funding for the Skyline systems comes from the local option sales tax (resort tax) in Big Sky, and from Federal Transit Administration Section 5311 funds, which are administered by the Montana Department of Transportation. Moonlight Basin’s additional contributions eliminate the need to charge $5 per trip on the Bozeman to Big Sky route.
“We are pleased Moonlight Basin has stepped up to help support this new service,” said Knorr. “We believe this will be a great benefit to the community.”
Route and schedule information for Skyline will be available on line at www.skylinebus.com towards the end of December and is also available by calling (406) 995-6287.

Big Sky Transit
The Big Sky Transportation District (BSTD) has awarded Karst Stge a five year contract to run the local Big Sky transit operation. Initially, the operation will be run with Karst's equipment with the hope that the District will buy new equipment shortly thereafter.
Along with similar offerings from previous years, Karst included an option to link the Bozeman and Big Sky systems. After fleshing it out, BSTD and Karst have agreed upon four Big Sky to Bozeman runs per day, and five Bozeman to Big Sky runs. The routes provide the public with the most cost effective, safe, and comfortable solution to providing rides through the Canyon.
We at Karst Stage are proud to carry on our 100 year heritage by providing this much needed service to the community.
